Vegan with HO Soybean Shortening

Solid Soap · NaOH · 100 g oil load · 2% superfat · 7 views · 0 saves

Instead of soy wax, which is what the recipe uses because it should have the same lye requirement and soap qualities, this recipe is made with the Primex brand Interesterified High Oleic Soybean Shortening made by Stratas Foods. * Beeswax is included as an additive, which avoids changing percentages/ratios of the primary oils. Beeswax doesn’t change the lye requirement. * Add micas and fragrances to ingredient list. Can use clear jojoba oil to mix micas, which will slightly increase superfat, and add to ingredient list.
