Goat Milk and Shea Bar Icing
Liquid Soap · KOH · 550 g oil load · 5% superfat · 1 views · 0 saves
Goat milk addition is not powder, but frozen liquid goat milk used for the lye mixture. Thus I used a liquid discount for the weight of the liquid milk when entering it in the receipt as “powdered”. I recommend using a FO that does not accelerate, as this batch traces VERY quickly on its own, with the high qty of raw shea and goat milk lye mixture. I added FO to liquid oils, added that to melted butters, then added goat milk lye mixture, all around 90-95 degrees F. It was the perfect consistency for soap icing after just a minute of stick blending. It is colored yellow from the raw shea butter, but the addition of coconut and manteca lighted it up a few shades to a lovely, buttery yellow.
