Flax Gel Bar Soap

Solid Soap · NaOH · 21 g oil load · 5% superfat · 5 views · 0 saves

In a small pot add 1.1 oz flax seeds to 12 oz of water. Bring to a boil and simmer a few minutes. Strain gel from seeds. (Store in frig if not using that day. )Add 2.3 oz of gel to oils and mix well. Original recipe says dissolve .34 oz of citric acid in 3.6 oz of water. Add 3.13 oz of lye to water To add to oils. Must have calculated gel as part of the water. That would be almost 6 oz of water to 3.1 lye… ratio of 2:1, normal. Wonder if I could use all gel in place of water? Probably not. There’s more than water in the gel?
