Canola Experiment No1
Solid Soap · NaOH · 100 g oil load · 5% superfat · 4 views · 0 saves
ETA: This recipe never got made due to me getting too sick. Dates/oils got thrown out. 😠Giving credit to @AAShillito, for the inspiration for this recipe. It may not seem like it, but it's based on his percentages. Thank you! I didn't have all your ingredients, but you gave me the platform from which to launch!! Weeeee!! And thanks also to @EfficaciousGentleman for his %s of salt and sugar he uses when he includes soft oils in his soap batches. Great advice. I've used my own %s, but it's nice to know what the more experienced members of the Forum do when they are working their own benches. So. Not sure how to add the Aloe Vera juice as an additive, or maybe I shouldn't. So I'll do it here: I'm replacing the liquid, in this case the starchy waters I was intending to use, with Aloe Vera juice completely. Also, I'm adding the sodium lactate to speed up the unmolding and hardening of the soaps over time. Both the olive and canola oils I know are soft and take forever to harden. Between making this soap through hot process, and all the additives, I'll be able to unmold by tomorrow afternoon. Fingers crossed! Or I'll have a Crockpot-sized soap-on-a-stick.
